Hello friends

Well here we are again. Back in the USA. We arrived on Thursday at the same time US Airways had to land their plane on the Hudson River, we picked up our hire car, counting our blessings for not landing in the river and drove north to Bridgeport. On Friday morning Matt and I went to CFA and met with Sharron and Dr Doyle. This time around we are using Frozen Eggs, and we knew that we had 17 mature eggs on ice. We did our blood work and produced our semen and then headed back to the hotel. This trip we knew was going to be low key without Broadway shows and sightseeing. We are here for a single purpose. Later that day we recieved a call to say all 17 eggs had survived the thaw which was excellent news! Matt and I hung out in CT and went to the movies to see Slumdog Millionaire and then went to Outback for dinner. On Saturday morning we got up, headed inland to Mohawk Mountain purely for a drive through the countryside into the mountains in the snow. After that we headed down to New York and checked into our hotel, and checked our emails to find one from Sharron at CFA to say six of Matt's had fertilised and four of mine had. There may be some late developers in there! Still TEN Embryo's from the 17 eggs is good news!

Matt leaves to return to England today (Sunday 18th January). I am waiting for Norma to fly in this afternoon at 4.30pm. We're heading up to CT and tomorrow we will hopefully find out whether we are doing a day 3 or Day 5 transfer. We are hoping for a day 5 Blast transfer.... will update with part 2 later....

Hello friends! I hope you all survived New Year's eve!! Ha Ha

As for the kids and I, we had a quiet evening at home. We watched the countdown on TV and I made roast beef. I also took advantage of the time and took the tree down and finished up some chores. I am sad to see 2008 leave but I am really looking forward to 2009. I am overjoyed at all of the possibilities that the new year brings! I feel so fortunate to have met Matthew and Brett this year! It is so hard to comprehend that we will be transferring again so soon. It is nice to be facing a new year, new hope, and a new beginning for our journey.

Our holiday was the best one yet! It was an amazing time filled with love and time spent with those whom we treasure. My brother was also engaged over the holiday so that is very exciting! I just know that 2009 will be a wonderful year filled with promise, hope, peace, love and hopefully a couple of new additions to the Griffin-Young family.

XO~Norma
